Larissa Kerbel has started dancing at the age of 5 in her mother's dance school in Russia. At the age of 13 she moved to the US to study and after immigrated to Canada with her family.

After many years of looking for a partner with the same passion for dancing and same desire to reach to the top, in 2000 she paired up with Alexandre Chalkevitch and together within less than a year they have risen to capture the title of Canadian Amateur Ballroom Champions as well as North American Ballroom Champions. They have continued their dancing career, winning The Canadian National title consecutively 5 times as well as achieving the top 20 in the world.

In 2005, after a long and successful amateur career, they have decided to turn Professional and have right away captured the Canadian National Professional Ballroom Champions title. They also made the final of the Rising Star Professional in Blackpool, which is the biggest championship in the world, and were runners-up at the International Championships in London.

Having won Canadian National Professional title consecutively 3 times, they have decided to move forward to the next step in their professional career. They retired from competitions in order to concentrate more on their students and their brainchild, Toronto Ballroom.

Working together with Team Diablo in Italy, they have already grown numerous Canadian champions, including Junior and Youth Canadian Champions.

Alexandre and Larissa believe that quality and passion are what makes a great dancer, and they work enthusiastically to nurture these attributes in their students.
